Used for centuries throughout Southeast Asia as an herbal tisane and natural food dye, Butterfly Pea Flower has recently exploded in global popularity for its brilliant blue color when brewed. What's more, the natural pigment in the flowers is pH-sensitive and will turn magenta with the introduction of acids like lemon juice.

Butterfly Pea Flower is a potent herb, requiring only a few blossoms to brew a full mug. While the tisane can certainly be enjoyed on its own, we prefer using it to add a pop of color to other teas, cocktails, or baked goods.

Butterfly Pea Flower is a legume; individuals with legume allergies should avoid this product.

While herbal tisanes can be brewed with boiling water, we find that a temperature closer to 180°F preserves the more delicate floral nuances of the infusion, resulting in a more satisfying brew.
